Halloween 2020 looks a little different than what we’ve become accustomed to. Instead of big parties, close contact haunted houses, and of course, trick or treating, many are opting to play it safe with a socially distanced celebration. But just because we’re six feet apart doesn’t mean we can’t enjoy this haunting time of year.
In Clermont, Winter Garden, and the Orlando area, you can expect to find many exciting events that will send a chill up your spine and make for a great time. Put on your costume and get ready for some great activities to celebrate this spooky season.
Here are a few events you don’t want to miss:
Orlando Forum of Fear
The Orlando Forum of Fear is hosting a transformational Halloween event to keep you coming back to complete the series and make the great escape. This haunted maze isn’t a one and done. Over the course of the season it will morph from the “Tunnel of the Damned” to “City Overtaken” and finally to the third part of the series, “Apocalypse.” Twenty masked actors are on set to ensure you leave sufficiently spooked. Not recommended for children under the age of 13.
Halloween Fun Run
This family-friendly event is taking place on the world wide web to ensure a safe and fun Halloween for all of its participants. Register your team online and receive a race number, put on your costume, and run through the streets of your neighborhood while tracking your adventure on a digital platform. This is a great event to meet other virtual (and international) runners in the Facebook community.
Haunted Halloween Maze
Continuing the tale of Catherine, a girl who went missing on the farm over a century ago, Lake Catherine Blueberries’s maze will allow you to experience her escape. Tickets for the maze are $10 if purchased in advance or $12 at the gate. If the maze is too scary, there are many all-ages activities around the farm to keep little ones and those faint of heart busy while brave souls tackle this haunted course.
A Petrified Forest
Explore three haunted trails and celebrate your escape from the woods with delicious food by local vendors and great music by a live on-site DJ. The Petrified Forest trails will take you through ta twisted carnival, time travel, and on a haunting adventure through an enchanted forest. Children 12 and under must be accompanied by an adult.
Halloween Scavenger Hunt
Spooky and safety are the priorities at this family-friendly Halloween event taking place at Lake Louisa State Park. Put on your best costume and get ready for an adventure through two twisted trails to find markers in the woods. Teams that find all 13 (yes the haunted number!) markers within a two-hour timeframe will be awarded a tasty treat. This event has parameters in place to ensure social distancing guidelines are met and everyone’s safety is the number one priority.
Just because it’s different doesn’t mean it’s a bust. There are plenty of great and spooktacular events across Central Florida that will have the hair on the back of your neck standing up. Enjoy everything Halloween has to offer and support local businesses by participating in these incredible well-planned events.
